A bit more about me

My yoga journey began when I was 15 years old; joining my mum in one of her weekly Iyengar classes. She would often practice around the house, referring to her Donna Farhi book for poses & inspiration. My mum had the most incredible forward bend (and still does!), totally flat and comfortably nestling her head to her shins. And I thought to myself, “I’d like to do that!”. In this Iyengar class, I remember feeling a little out of place, being the youngest by about 30 years, and the only male. Although, this aspect wasn’t so strange to me. I grew up with lots of female friends having a keen interest in dance, putting on fancy dress and play acting. Male-dominated spaces felt uncomfortable to me, other boys saw me as different and something not quite fitting in with their idea of how young boys should behave.  I later came to realise my queer identity, feminity and shy demeanour was not the norm in southeast London. It was fate finding yoga and coming out in the same year. Something about the yoga space made me feel safe as a young queer person.

Jumping forward many years later (17!), after countless hours of practice, two 200 hour teacher trainings and lots of encouragement from teachers and friends, I am now teaching in London.

I share my practice with people of all levels, leading my classes with love and a kind heart. Offering up everything I have learnt in Yoga, Qigong, meditation and various other movement modalities to create an inclusive and welcoming space.

My goal is to help others find calm and peace through moving meditation.

I teach in various places in London and online, my full schedule here.

Some of the teachers I would love to recognise, without them, I would not be the person or teacher that I am today:

  • James Rafael

  • Jean Hall

  • Erika Tourell

  • Lisa Sanfilippo

  • Hester Montgomery Campbell

  • And many others!
